Running with the world`s elite
Endurance and pain, that is the Harakiri Mountain Race. For the fourth consecutive year, the crème de la crème of the international mountain running scene will meet to compete in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region. Some of the world´s best runners, such as Markus Kröll, Jonathan Wyatt, Andrea Mayr and Brandy Erlholtz have already taken part in this unparalleled mountain running event. Amateur athletes and serious runners also have the opportunity to compete alongside the mountain running scene's world elite.
The Harakiri Mountain Race is hosted by the International Austrian Mountain Running Cup, tour stop of the WMRA Grand-Prix and the Salomon Running Tour in the hometown of Tyrol's most successful mountain runner, Markus Kröll from Mayrhofen in Zillertal in the beautiful Tyrol.
The race starts on Sunday, 5th August 2012 at 10:00 hrs at the Brück'n Stadl. After a neutralising warm-up lap through Mayrhofen, the official start begins at the Sternplatz. Athletes then begin their agonizing run in the direction of Burgstall, up over the steepest section in Astegg to Mount Penken, where the long awaited finishing line is located at the Gschößwand Haus.
We are already looking forward to receiving many entries from mountain running enthusiasts, as well as another memorable mountain running event.
